This abstract is the result of my continued effort to explore the balance between control and freedom, both in art and life. The squares, like mountains and trees, seem to just flow out of me. It has been that way since I was in art school. This work with its texture of paint layers and the rhythm of the overlapping squares, sharp and rough edges, matches the daily dance of everyday life, at least for me, of schedules and task management with the need to just relax and embrace the beauty and surprises each day delivers.
