We were on Trail Ridge Road on top of Fall River Pass in Rocky Mountain National Park,  Colorado at about 12,000 ft, on a September afternoon when the sun was just emerging from the western sky. It lit up the alpine field below a quickly moving group of low hanging clouds. Shortly after, it started to flurry and then snowed heavily for about 10 minutes as more clouds passed. A typical high country experience.
